Mercari is licensed to operate markets in Australia through its Australian Market Licence (AML). Mercari is only licensed OTC market operator in Australia. Mercari also holds an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) enabling it to act as an IDB by arranging inter-bank transactions with wholesale clients in OTC financial markets.

Mercari supports FEX's strategic plans to develop the leading Asian electronic marketplace for energy, commodity, financial and environmental products.

The FEX Mercari team enhances FEX’s OTC sales and marketing efforts as FEX works to bring the value and benefits of electronic trading, (including speed, efficiency and transparency) to the OTC energy and commodity swap markets.

Participation in FEX Mercari OTC markets depends on the underlying product. For example, Financial products operate through an inter-dealer network whereas Environmental products operate through a broker intermediated network.

FEX Mercari is dedicated to developing the OTC marketplaces through increasing accessibility, functionality and reliability thereby maximizing transparency and optimizing our participants’ trading operations and strategies.

This includes fast order hold and resume, cancel, custom sorts and modification with fast in-line trading. To increase security, each transaction is encrypted. Once a trade is completed, it is archived for 7 years with only the central system operators having access to trade records.

Trading through FEX Mercari's systems is fast and efficient. All posted quotes are live and firm, and with a click of the mouse you are able to act on these quotes. Postings are anonymous such that no other user can know that a posting belongs to you unless they transact with it.

FEX Mercari also provides a credit management system. This allows credit and risk managers to specify and pre-clear credit for trading counter-parties.
